Students of Kispest spent summer holiday abroad Wednesday August 15, 2012

Exchange recreation program of Kispest local government also concluded with success this year. Similarly to last eight years first Kispest received children in Káptalanfüred in the camp of the local government coming from the sister towns of the district, then students of Kispest travelled to Istanbul, to Sombor (Vojvodina) and to Krzeszowice (Poland).
Owing to the exchange recreation program in the past years more than one thousand students of Kispest could spend the summer holiday abroad where they could get acquainted with culture, history and habits of the hosting country. This year students visited to Serbia, Poland and Turkey.
Students taking part in the nine-day holiday in Serbia were received by Sombor. Besides sightseeing and visiting museums children also took part in a fish cooking competition, then made all-day trips to Novi Sad and Bezdan. Students spending the summer in Krzeszowice, Poland took part, among others, in the “Etnomania” festival where they could learn Polish folk dances, ancient crafts and visit to Krakow, as well. During this trip the group saw, among others, the graves of István Báthori, prince of Transylvania and Polish king and visited to the Cloth Hall. Children of Kispest travelling to Turkey were received by Pendik district of Istanbul. In the course of the 10-day program they were sailing on Bosporus, saw historical centre of Istanbul and visited the Blue mosque and the bazar. The group spent the second half of the holiday by having a rest in one of the luxury resort of Sile on the cost of the Black Sea.
Having the exchange programs finished children returned from all the three countries with heavy heart but enriched with adventures. It is a matter of special curiosity that thanks to István Szilágyi, chief organizer, parents living at home could get online information continuously on testvervaros.kispest.hu website, so they did not need to worry much about the children.
