The Turkish-Hungarian Amity Park (friendship, amity park) may be completed in Pendik still this spring where bust of honorary citizen of Kispest, member of the Hungarian golden team Ferenc Puskás will also be inaugurated – mayor of Kispest said.

Pendik is one of the districts of Istanbul on Asian side of the town. Local government of the two towns made a decision in May 2010 to conclude a sister town agreement. In the past seven years the two local governments have arranged a number of cultural, educational and economic programs together. In the past years 120 students from 5 schools of Kispest travelled to Turkey and just as many Turkish students with attendant teachers visited Kispest – Peter Gajda, mayor briefly summed up the story of relations of the two towns.

Peter Gajda, mayor told our paper that the Puskás-bust – to be set up in honour of the Kispest-Pendik friendship – will be located in an attractive park, furnished with special and individual solutions, sports grounds, playgrounds in tiers, green fields and walkways covered with trees, as is shown by the architectural perspectives. At the entrance of the park an photos on information board will demonstrate Hungary and Kispest. Moreover, a man-sized Rubik-cube is also located here which raises a monument to the memory of the worthily world-famous Hungarian toy and its inventor. As a matter of curiosity the mayor pointed out that the most popular novel in Turkey is not “Eclipse of the Crescent Moon” but “Paul Street Boys”, so the photo of the group of figures can also be seen on a large board on the square which group of statues represent the child heroes of the novel in front of the school in Práter Street 11 in the 8th district.
