Pendik camp report
This year, in the first week of July, the Turkish twinning exchange program organized by the Kispest Municipality was successfully completed, in the framework of which 6 students and 2 students of the Deák Ferenc High School in Kispest spent a week in our twin city Istanbul. The aim of the programme was to foster friendly relations between the two countries and to strengthen understanding and respect between cultures.
Students were able to participate in a variety of cultural and social activities. The first day started with a city tour of Istanbul, visiting famous historical sites such as the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. The students also had the opportunity to learn about Turkish culture, traditions and gastronomy as we participated in a visit to a local market and a traditional Turkish dinner.
One of the highlights of the community activities was a joint sports day, where Turkish and Hungarian students competed together in various team games. A workshop was also organised where students could learn some traditional Turkish handicraft techniques.
The programme was concluded with a joint ceremony where participants could showcase their work and experiences during their time together. The students made many new friendships and came away with unforgettable experiences that they will look forward to recalling in the future.
