Report on the Tasnad twin town exchange student program - Kispesti Deák Ferenc High School - July 29 - August 4, 2025.

Within the framework of the international twin town exchange program organized by the Kispest Municipality, nine students and two teachers from Kispest Deák Ferenc High School spent an eventful week in Tasnád, Partium, between July 29 and August 4, 2025. The purpose of the visit was to foster twin city relations and to expand the students' cultural and historical knowledge.
The host Municipality of Tasnad and the teachers of the local school organized diverse, meaningful programs, during which the participants could learn about the geographical, historical and cultural values of Tasnad and its surroundings.
On the first day of the camp, the group visited Nagykároly, where they visited the Károlyi Castle, and then took a short city tour to get acquainted with the sights of Tasnad. The next day was spent in Szatmárnémeti, where, in addition to a guided city tour, they also visited the exhibitions of the Szatmárnémeti Museum.
Among the special elements of the program was a visit to Sződemeter, the birthplace of Ferenc Kölcsey, where the students could gain insight into the history of the Reformed church, led by the local Reformed pastor, and also visit the Kölcsey Memorial House. An unforgettable experience was the visit to Endre Ady’s birthplace in Érmindszent, as well as the ruins of the Wesselényi Castle and the botanical garden in Žibo.
The highlight of the camp was the official reception of the deputy mayor of Tasnád, which duly emphasized the importance of twin-city relations. A special experience was the visit to the Allu chocolate factory, where the students could learn about the processes of chocolate making, and the local fair, where they could discover the special offerings of the region.
The program series was enriched with educational activities and joint games, while regular visits to the thermal bath in Tasnád provided the participants with an opportunity to relax. One of the most memorable events of the week was the family day organized by the local parents' association, during which the students could ride in a horse-drawn carriage, go fishing, and taste delicious local dishes.
The students participating in the program returned home not only with rich knowledge, but also with lasting experiences and new friendships. The visit strengthened the twin-city relationship between Kispest and Tasnád, and contributed to strengthening the foundations of future cooperation.
We would like to thank the Kispest Municipality, the Tasnád Municipality, the hosts, the teachers, and especially the parents' association for the warm welcome, careful organization, and many unforgettable moments.
