Kispest chapter of the sister town student exchange program drew to a close on Sunday; camping of nearly one hundred Polish, Bulgarian and Turkish young people finished in Káptalanfüred. Twenty children of Kispest spent the summer holiday in the social camp of the local government and got acquainted with the foreign students. Peter Gajda mayor, György Vinczek and Csaba Kertész deputy mayors, further Szilvia Szujkó, Mrs J. Bogó and Attila Varga local representatives also paid a visit to the camp this week. Guests could enjoy the Hungarian children’s cultural programme: they favoured the audience with performances of the Arts’ Ok Dance School and indulged the company with folk songs. The young people coming from Krzeszowice, Smolyan and Pendik for the summer holiday also gave the guests a foretaste of their culture: they arranged Polish, Bulgarian and Turkish folklore evening. In the course of camping by Balaton the foreign students went to Tihany, Veszprém, were rambling all over the environs of Káptalanfüred and tried their skills in several sport competitions. Before camping they had spent three days with families in Kispest, got acquainted with the district and the capital.
To continue the program the student group of the Kós Károly Primary School of Kispest will travel to Pendik, Istanbul on Tuesday for ten days. Purpose of the student exchange program is that participating children should get more acquainted with the towns of each other, features, culture of their countries, make friends with each other enhancing the cultural relationship between the settlements.
