Students (20 persons each) from the sister towns of Kispest, from the Turkish Pendik and the Serbian Sombor began their camping in Hungary this morning. Peter Gajda mayor and György Vinczek deputy mayor for the hosts greeted them in the hall of the City Hall. Children from the Polish Krzeszowice are to arrive in Hungary in the evening hours.
Sister town relations of Kispest have been continuously developing in recent years. They could welcome a group from Sombor – their oldest sister town – for the tenth occasion this year – the mayor said in his congratulations, who had the pleasure to inform that due to these connections lots of children from Kispest have the opportunity to travel beyond the border year by year and can get acquainted with culture of other countries, can make friends for life with those living there.
Following brief speeches and introduction the children’s programme included sightseeing and common trip to the summer camp of the district in Káptalanfüred, where they would spend a few days. After this vacation at Lake Balaton almost one hundred children from Kispest can return the foreign children’s visit since students leave for Sombor from the Deák Ferenc Secondary School, for Krzeszowice from the Kós school and eight-form children “selected” from various primary schools set out to Pendik.
