Pupils of Bolyai János Primary School send ten days in Turkey within the framework of the student exchange program of the local government. They arrived in Istanbul on Monday.
This morning pupils of the Bolyai school visited to the house of Ferenc Rákóczi II in Rodosto (Tekirdağ) and laid flowers on the prince’s statue. The group arrived in the sister town Pendik, Istanbul on Monday, pupils went on a boating trip on Bosporus on Tuesday and are going to see the Topkapi seraglio and the blue mosque on Thursday.
The Turkish journey is part of the traditional international summer student exchange program within the frame of which from June 28 to July 7 Turkish, Croatian, Bulgarian and Polish children will spend their summer holiday together with Hungarian students in Kispest and in holiday camp of the local government in Káptalanfüred. To continue the program students of Kispest will travel to Bulgaria, Poland and Croatia in summer.
In order to realize the Hungarian part of the student exchange project the European Union provided assistance amounting to € 11,000.
